Betty Adamou
CEO and Founder of Research Through Gaming Ltd and new start-up Playing To Drive. Betty is also Editor-in-Chief of GameAccess.com – a Gamification blog. Betty has spoken at many conferences, recently being part of the conference committee for ESOMAR 3D and in the past part Advisory Board of The NewMR Festival 2010. She has spoken about the Gamification of Research at NewMR, CASRO Online, ESOMAR 3D, ESOMAR Best of USA and Best of Croatia, MRS Kids and Youth, keynote at NetGain6 2012, Swedish Market Research Day and due to speak at ESOMAR Best of India.
Betty also runs workshops on Gamification for the MRS and ARK Group and is currently writing a book ‘Playspondents: Making Research Gameful’.
She also spends some time giving talks at her old secondary school and draws/creates artwork as ‘BlackBettyLives’ in her spare time. (http://blackbettylives.wordpress.com/) In the past, Betty has written monthly blogs for the RWConnect website and her article ‘The Future of Research Through Gaming’ (which was a condensed version of her CASRO paper) was noted by the editor as the websites most read article on the website, ever! It has then also gone on to feature on other websites.
Her work on using gamification in research has been written about in many online publications by gamification thought leaders and market researchers, supporting her quest for change in research.
Bernie Malinoff
Bernie is President of element54, a Toronto & Montreal based strategic full-service market insights firm, whose clients include Loyalty Programs, Retail, CPG, Financial Services, Lottery & Gaming, Government and Health/Pharma. element54 initiated groundbreaking research into Online survey design – “Sexy Questions, Dangerous Results?” (2009), “Eyes Don’t Lie” (2010) and “How Far is Too Far” (2011) which have shaped industry dialogue and consciousness around the complex issues of emerging technologies in survey research.
Bernie has spoken at a cross-section of high profile events, including the MRIA (Toronto, Ottawa & Montreal), The Market Research Event (Las Vegas), Advertising Research Foundation (New York), CASRO (New York), MRA (Boston) and ESOMAR 3D (Miami).
In 2010, Bernie was nominated for the Next Generation Marketing Research (NGMR) “Disruptive Innovation” Award. He is a Past-President of the MRIA Québec Chapter, Certified Market Research Professional (CMRP) and sessional lecturer at McGill University on Marketing and Research issues.
