For many years Ray Poynter has been offering training courses to a range of private and public organisations. Four of these courses are now being offered directly to NewMR’s contacts and a fifth in conjunction with The Research Society from Australian.

In this two-hour course, you will be given a straightforward method for communicating stories that lead to action. This session utilises Ray Poynter’s ‘Think, Feel, Do!’ model to link the facts from your project to the needs of the audience. This model acknowledges that people need to ‘feel’ that the story you are telling them is correct and ‘feel’ that the recommendations are right if they are going to adopt them.

This Core Skills course is offered in conjunction with The Research Society, it is designed to introduce the process of Storyfinding – working through the process from problem definition to arriving at the output of a summarised story.

In this two-hour course, you will be introduced to the use of scenario thinking. In uncertain times, creating predictions and forecasts can be risky. By contrast, scenario thinking focuses on creating a series of plausible futures, allowing your organisation to create robust responses to events as they unfold.

StatisticsAn Introduction to Market Research Statistics

This course provides a useful reminder/introduction to the key statistics that we use in the world of insights and market research. In this 90-minute session, we will start with the basics such as means, median, distribution and the types of scales we use. The course will then move on to topics such as correlation and the ideas underpinning significance testing.
