I am asking for your support for a great breast cancer awareness charity called CoppaFeel! You can make a donation by clicking here.

My fundraising activity is that I am taking part in a race, running 108 miles (174 KM) along the Pennine Way. We start running on June 19 and we have up to 60 hours to complete the distance (I am hoping to do it in 36 hours). As well as running through the day and night, we will be carrying everything we need, including water, waterproofs, food, emergency equipment. In my case, my rucksack will weigh about 10KG (22 pounds). I will be posting updates and you will be able to follow my progress via the race’s tracking beacons (we all have to carry one). You can find out more about the race here.

The charity CoppaFeel! was created by a wonderful person, Kris Hallenga, who is also a good friend of my daughter Michèle. Kris went to her doctor as a young woman on several occasions with concerns about her breasts. But was sent away because she was in her early 20s and was therefore likely to be OK. When she did finally get tested, at 23 years of age, she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Kris responded to this news, and treatment, by creating CoppaFeel! a charity that educates young women on how to check their breasts, and how to insist on being heard.

Please, please, please, read this really important article about Kris from The Guardian newspaper.

If you can, please make a donation to CoppaFeel! via my giving page.
