Biography

Andrea is an entrepreneur, founder, researcher, explorer, aesthete, Executive Chair, and an avid enabler of female entrepreneurship and female corporate careers on the African continent. She defines her life purpose as liberating truth for humanity, and entrench this purpose in her working life through the vision of her company

Over the last 28 years she has built a successful company and is widely recognised as an industry leader. She passionately believes business must play a pivotal role in shaping and changing society, and is committed to contribute to that change through uplifting societal voices.

Andrea is the founder of Ask Afrika, the largest independent South African market research company with international flair that guarantees local relevance and globally benchmarked expertise to its clients.

She started the company as a one-woman show in 1995. She was motivated by the desire to prove it is possible to be simultaneously successful and ethical. In living her beliefs, she has built a magnificent female leadership team steering the research company’s drive to achieve global business impact.

Building the company took dedication, passion, love for her clients, and the ability to laugh, and today Ask Afrika is a research and marketing organisation that operates globally in developing markets for companies operating in these territories.

She has delivered numerous international papers, and her research, leadership and other achievements have been recognised by several awards. Her commitment to honouring the voice of South African citizens is born out of an enduring passion for all things socio-political.
