Biography

James Wycherley became Chief Executive of the Insight profession’s best practice group, the Insight Management Academy, in May 2015.

He had previously led Customer Insight and Analysis at Barclays Bank since May 2004, developing the bank’s Insight capability, and growing a talented team of analysts and Insight Managers to identify value and drive change across the organisation. 

James has delivered consultancy and keynote speeches in a dozen countries across Europe, North America, Australia and the Middle East, and chaired eight conferences for Marketing Week. He holds honours degrees from the Universities of Southampton and Manchester, and a post-graduate degree from Ashridge Business School. He has lectured on insight at Winchester Business School and at the Ashcroft International Business School. 

As Chief Executive of the IMA, James is committed to developing best practice in Insight Management, helping organisations to benchmark their Insight capability, and guiding client-side Insight leaders who want to transform their teams. He leads the Insight Management Forum, whose corporate members include ebay, Tesco, M&S, Molson Coors and British Gas, as well as the IMA’s benchmarking, training and consultancy programmes.
